Are you good at connecting dots and lines? As a product manager understanding the mobile ecosystem vertically and horizontally, you will build software products enabling mobile applications and services that will unleash the potential of premium sound across smartphones and tablets.
We are looking for a visionary and passionate product leader with extensive experience defining, building, and launching successful mobile products to market. You will build products from new and existing ideas, and develop new products through interaction with Mobile Device Manufacturers and partners.
Acting as the products’ business owner, you will be responsible for developing and executing the product strategy, positioning, messaging, and pricing. You must process strong business acumen, broad mobile industry knowledge, and in-depth technical knowledge about mobile devices, operating systems, applications and multimedia.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the product lifecycle including strategic planning, definition, development, management, delivery and end of life for your products.
- Be responsible for and define the detailed product requirements and ensure that product meets the market needs, revenue, and adoption targets.
- Develop compelling product positioning, messaging, and value proposition for device OEM customers and partners.
- Run your product as a business by owning the business case, business model, segmentation, and pricing.
- Be a contributor of new concepts, methods or technologies or on the development of new ecosystems.
- Working with the R&D teams, leverage Dolby’s existing technology platforms to bring them to the market and contribute ideas that can lead to the creation of new platforms.
- Support Sales with detailed product information, sales tools, product training, and briefings with customers, eco-system partners, and prospects.
- Develop a go to market strategy and provide ongoing product support to field and regions.
- Serve as primary product evangelist. Evangelize product to customers, partners, and analysts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, or related fields required. Masters, advanced degree and/or MBA highly desirable.
- Previous experience as a software developer for CE devices, mobile applications and/or SDKs desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant mobile industry experience doing inbound and outbound software product management.
- Track record of managing a successful software product portfolio especially for mobile applications. Proven experience in managing across the complete product lifecycle, from initial concept to end-of-life.
- Demonstrated ability to look at big pictures, connect dots, and find new business opportunities. Strong problem solving and analytical skills highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills. Must have as strong public presence with the talent to present.
- Passion for enhancing the entertainment experience and for “pushing the technology envelope”.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the mobile ecosystem and key ecosystem players.
- Deep knowledge of multimedia entertainment technologies including but not limited to audio and video codecs, file formats, DRM and/or internet technologies.
- Understanding of multimedia framework in mobile operating systems such as Android, iOS, and/or Windows highly desirable
- Understanding of audio enhancement technologies used for pre and/or post processing of media content.
- Experience in working in new or groundbreaking mobile technology areas, and developing complex product lines, ecosystems, or solutions that are the first to market highly desired
- Knowledge of Dolby’s products, technologies, customers, and markets desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams, both functionally and geographically.
- Ability to travel domestically and overseas. International travel and work experience desirable.
