The Home Theater Product Manager is responsible for the definition, development, management, sustaining and execution of Dolby implementation products for home theater throughout the product lifecycle. You would work closely with licensed implementation development partners as well as other Product Managers, Product Marketing, Engineering and other stakeholders to create best-in-class consumer audio products. You will be responsible for taking market requirements documents from Product Marketing and delivering on-time, profitable products that contain significant, meaningful innovations and meet customer and market need. You own the product requirements document, manage product development to meet feature, schedule and margin targets and responsible for the product, and updates during its time in-market. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall vision, strategy and goals.

This position is located in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:
- Own the development, management, delivery, maintenance, and ultimate end of life for a portion of the professional licensing portfolio.
- Build close relationships with key SoC/IC/DSP development partners in order to understand and respond to their requirements and deliver development kits that can be implemented with minimum integration effort.
- Be responsible for the detailed product requirements, and own the Product Requirements Document (PRD). Ensure this document meets the market need, as expressed in the MRD, captures customer usage and use cases, and has the buy-in of the Advanced Technology Group , Research, CTO, and Engineering.
- Working with the Platform teams, leverage Dolby’s technology platforms to bring them to the market. Provide detailed feedback to further develop existing technology platforms and create solutions that set a precedent for future products.
- Be accountable for program milestones, schedules, and deliverables in conjunction with the Advanced Technologies Group (Research, Program Management, QA, and Engineering) and Home Theater marketing team.
- Carry out day-to-day product management tasks such as prioritizing bug fixes, identifying and defining new product features and enhancements; clarifying the product requirements and customer need; and scheduling product updates and updating the individual product roadmap.
- Manage and coordinate with Sales and Engineering beta and pilot programs of early-stage products and samples.
- Guide the product through the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process once the business case has been approved.
- Serve as a consultant to colleagues as to how Dolby software licensing products are integrated into larger systems.
- Provide product training and attend product meetings with customers, eco-system partners and prospects, and customer support.
- Perform tasks necessary to complete performance objectives.
- Manage multiple product programs while anticipating and preventing potential problems.
- Assist team members as needed, positive team player.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in electrical engineering, and/or Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degree (MSEE/MSCS) or equivalent experience highly desirable.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience with x86, RISC and DSP architectures with understanding of efficient signal processing for each. Solid foundation of floating point and fixed point programming development for consumer electronics (CE) applications
- Experience with digital audio interface technologies and specifications
- Experience with digital audio signal processing algorithm development and configuration (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, HE-AAC experience highly desirable)
- Ability to demonstrate application platform depth (with respect to SOC, DSP and related development tools)
- Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of audio subsystem architectures
- Minimum 3 years product management experience in CE or related field (Home Theater / AV receiver, HTiB, or Soundbar related product management experience highly desirable)
- Track record of developing or managing successful consumer technology products and systems (technology licensing experience highly desirable)
- Experience in developing and managing across the complete whole product life-cycle, from initial concept to end-of-life, in a fast-paced, high-technology environment.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; excellent team member.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of audio and video technologies and their application in content creation and distribution infrastructures highly desirable. Knowledge of Dolby’s products, technologies and customers highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the overall home video content delivery and equipment chain.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams, both functionally and geographically.
- Organizational savvy to understand how to get things done in a matrix organization; proven ability to work hands-on and execute many things at once.
- Ability to travel domestically and overseas. International travel and work experience desirable.
